I bought a pocket book of Shakespeare’s sonnets (cost me about £4.99 or so when I went to Stratford-upon-Avon back in 2012; was on a week-long, English vacation with my older brother and was my first time using a passport).
Years ago my husband got me a gorgeous hardcover of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare”. My older daughter has it now; is reading MacBeth. She said that she blew her teacher’s mind when the teacher asked her if she needed a copy and she said what she had.
I think Jon’s response is perfectly proportionate to someone who starts a sentence with today ‘I read Shakespeare’. What would you like Liz? A round of applause? Unless you specify which and why, any response of a random statement is applicable. (Of course IMHO)

I read this strip today and the word “Shakespeare” is in it. So I guess I have read Shakespeare today.

Why does she continue to have anything at all to do with Jon? Comic strip relationships, I guess.

Reading is fundamental, But without comprehension it’s fatally flawed.
