M&C: a classic meal

Yep, that and hot dogs is about all some kids will eat. And not just any mac n cheese, it has to be just the right one from the store. That good stuff that you make from scratch with the bacon, 3 cheeses and truffle oil just won’t cut it.

It’s all those ingredients that end in “-ine”, “-ane”, and “-ate” that make it so delicious.

Did not grow up on mac n’ cheese. Just don’t understand it other than it is quick and easy for a harried mother.

Most of the boxed mac and cheese has no flavor so you have to add to it . Tis the reason why I make it from scratch ;-)

Always like the melted and browned cheese on the top of the ‘mac n cheese’ my Mom made ! ! ! !

The best was when Dad used any and all cheeses left over in the fridge. YUM!

you’re a plugger if you have that kind of nice relationship with your neighbors. Mine are nice enough but if I need mac and chz I need to run to the store.

Feed their sugar (pasta is made from flour and that’s just another form of sugar/carbs) addiction.

This is a rerun.

When I’m cooking for the nieces and nephews, I use the pasta from the box, and make my own cheese sauce. Then I make sure they see me throwing away the empty box. If they mention it tasting different, I say the milk and butter up here taste different. They may catch on any time now. (My family is from TN, I live in MA)

I buy it by the case, just in case.

The only times I had it as a kid, it came out of the freezer ready to heat in it’s own little aluminum pan. Swanson perhaps?
