“Merry Christmas” is perfect for those who celebrate Xmas (I do). “Happy Holidays” covers everyone of all beliefs, so that’s what I use among strangers. I wish peace and good will to all, even if some don’t appear to deserve it.
Just the PC brigade afraid to offend other faiths, without bothering to check if said faiths were offended in the first place. Merry Christmas everyone. if anyone is offended please let me know…

Real holiday spirit is exhibited by being tolerant of the beliefs or non-beliefs of others. Don’t tell me I can’t say “Merry Christmas” simply because you don’t believe in God. It’s my choice to believe in God, so it’s my choice to try and remember who prefers “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays”, “Happy Hannukah” or whatever…we have a Pagan friend who will wish us “Merry Christmas” and we respond with “Happy Saturnalia”!!! Much laughter ensues, fun is had, joy is shared.
The problem with the term “Merry Christmas” is that it is a religious greeting that has been co-opted by secular society. And now it has been weaponized as a litmus test for whether one is “PC” or not. The only appropriate use of the term is as a friendly greeting to those who are celebrating the birth of Christ. It is misused as an advertising slogan or as a war cry against those who dare to utter the quite old (at least since the 1860s) phrase of “Happy Holidays.”

Why is this an issue? Even nowadays, when RW asses are in power here, India doesn’t have any problem with Christmas!

If you’re a Christian, say Merry Christmas.
If you’re not of the Christian persuasion, say Happy Holidays or whatever.

I always liked “Season’s Greetings” but that was because I liked the way it sounded. It reminded me of the seasonings of Mom’s filling/stuffing.
