I was just reading a story in today’s paper about Silent Night. It was composed 200 years ago in 1818, by Franz Xaver Gruber, to lyrics by Joseph Mohr, in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria

Lighten up Granny…listen to “I Wonder as I Wander” and think about the words. Deeply meaningful song which you don’t hear much on the radio.

I enjoy “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire.”

Seriously, though, if you like traditional carols, try listening to “Mary, Did You Know?” performed by Voctive with Mark Lowry. Mark wrote the words and did a FANTASTIC job with the song. Voctive is an acapella group that has about 12-15 members. Another good version is Pentatonix. They only have five members but an incredible wall of sound.
