There may be many good reasons to get American troops out of Syria. But dropping suddenly, on the suggestion of an “unnamed” foreign head of state (Vladimir Putin of Russia to leave him as the sole international power there? Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia? Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey [the day after a judge scolds Erdoğan’s former unregistered foreign agent, Flynn]?

Just as Barack Obama opposed the invasion of Iraq before Dubya Bush went in, but campaigned on a promise to be “as careful getting out as we were careless going in,” everything is in the execution.

Obviously, Trump-ividual 1 is trying to divert the news cycle from a disastrous week of new coverage on his close ties to Russia. He did not consult with either congressional leaders or the Pentagon. He just made a rash, careless move which might have been the right policy if done judiciously, but not when it is simply surrender to Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia … and ISIS.

When it backfires in his face, he will blame it on the Democrats. Just watch. Grrrrrrrr.

When Individual 1 says “we”, he means someone other than the US armed forces.

A possible scenario: Vlad of the KGB whispered in the trumpster’s ear a short time ago, “Make my Christmas merry, give me Syria and I will love you for ever.”

To satisfy his ego and “keep a promise” to his followers, he will put the whole world in jeopardy! What a downright and stupid idiot! Why did he even announce this withdrawal? I thought he said he disliked letting the world know our plans! By the time Syria is MTd of our troops, the rest of the countries involved will be laughing in our faces! He is more than a stupid idiot! I will have to consult my thesaurus to find more words for him. Starting with A$$!

He talked with Erdogan yesterday and agreed with him to leave Syria, so they can get rid of the “terrorist Kurds.” Also a massive arms deal to Turkey. When we finally get that disgusting varmint out of office, he should be deported to Russia.

Trump just gave Syria to Isis and Putin and Iran.

Isis and the Taliban are stronger in Afghanistan than ever.

The Afghanistan people have been measured as the most miserable people in the world thanks to Republican aggression.

Yes, there are complex decisions to be made by a POTUS. Too bad the current White House occupant is in over his head.

If he carries through on this promise, I will grieve for the Kurds and for Rojava, but I will celebrate this one small pullback from the policy of waging war everywhere.

The thought that just struck me is that maybe Trump thinks he can use those troops as his personal praetorian guard when he declares Martial law and attempts his coup. In order to “protect” us from the new Democrat controlled House of course.
