When I was a kid, if I couldn’t spell a word, my Father would always say: “Look it up in the dictionary.” To which I would always gripe: “How can I look it up when I don’t know how to spell it?”
Thank the internet gods for Grammarly and spellcheck ! (Grammarly hates it when I add a space before a ! or a ? when I write but old habits die hard, and it has to do with being able to read the font.)
very very cool ‘comeback’ Earl -————papa what is ___________? papa why does __________________? papa do you know if______________________?, once it was daddy _______________?, now it is papa __________________? (enjoying it now, cause soon my role as ‘google’ will be over) not sad but proud they learn how to discover for themselves and share their knowledge
The American spelling looks very odd and wrong to my Canadian eyes. But then, so do a lot of American spellings – waggon, color, honor, etc. etc. When did you guys decide to start spelling badly?
I’m Google for several people. Surprisingly, one of them is a computer graphic artist & hacker. She’ll spend an hour or more trying to find something, then she’ll ask me & I’ll find it in less than a minute. For some reason she never can figure out the right words to use in searches.
