I tried going to bed at 7 PM and still stayed awake until 1 AM.

Well, if there’s any “bright side” to the current Luann Strip, Gunther will probably NEVER have to gaze into that 6 AM face……,

Have you tried cutting down/out caffeine? Screen time? Hot showers? Releaxing before going to bed?

There’s some research about that. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/12/12/676118782/sleepless-no-more-in-seattle-later-school-start-time-pays-off-for-teens

There’s a genuine, scientific reason for this, and it’s not her fault. She’s a teen; her body clock, for a few years, will be naturally set for her to be a night owl. If she were allowed to slip her whole schedule by two or three hours, she’d be fine. Unfortunately, adults run to a much earlier body rhythm, and it’s the adults in society who drive the actual schedule that she’s expected to live by.
