I only learned of this nursery rhyme from John le Carré, who used it for his spy novel “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.”

I can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, yet little girls can jump rope and rhyme at the same time.

I was around when they changed the eenie, meenie, miney, moe slur which, in very progressive Minnesota, was shunned quite quickly…

I’m an American (Indian) card and all….it doesn’t bother me in the slightest…I used to jump rope myself singing this song…people need to get over stuff…Like “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me…”
