I was unaware that there was a movie until 2-3 months ago. I looked it up and watched it (great movie) but I don’t remember if I found it on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
all those lists of things that we won’t use anymore includes DVD’s but the fact so many things are NOT available on line is what will keep DVD’s going to a long time.
Little kids love music, and love REPETITION. So when our son was little, at the dawn of the VCR era (remember the days when you could only watch what was broadcast? Seems so long ago…), we wanted to make sure we chose something we could stand hearing repeated repeatedly. Fortunately “The Music Man” was a favorite of mine from my own childhood, plus I had heard constant repetition while a counselor in summer camp, bunking with the drama counselor who wore out the record rehearsing kids in their parts. (Remember records?) So our son grew up with that movie, then went to school and was drafted for chorus because he already understood harmonies, and counterpoint, and vocal percussion (“CASH for the merchandise! CASH for the buttonhooks!”). So, it’s an educational movie.
Come to Canada, pay the same for Netflix and get hardly any shows compared to the US. Amazon-Prime is a Cluster—- here, everything is extra or blocked. CBS All Access is better but the interface needs work.
Netflix recommendations are occasionally arcane… I once got a recommendation that said something like "Because you liked ‘Silence of the Lambs’, we think you’ll like “Frazier”. ??
I got Amazon Prime because I receive a few books a week and I pay a small amount (about $3.50 a month) so I don’t have to pay for package and postage. As an extra I got Prime Video with it and I have to say that they offer more than enough for me in movies and series (new and older). I can recommend it.

I tried it, and it recommended Bee Movie, Shrek and Meet the Robinsons. They should do a reboot of the movie, but keep it closer to the strip.

Too many options?! You must be kidding. I can typically get away with subscribing to Netflix for 30 days every 12 months … maybe not even that often.

Also, The Music Man is not on Netflix. I typed it in, and it recommended White Christmas.
