When my stepdaughter was afraid of monsters under the bed or in the closet I’d come in with a flashlight and, with her right beside me, we’d carefully look under the bed, in the closet, and wherever else a monster could be hiding. After she saw for herself there were no monsters in the area she had no trouble going to sleep.
