Arlo needs to build a multi tiered carousel to store all those appliances for Janis and himself. Put it in the a closet if he can use one by taking out the stationary shelves.
I have a blender that has not been used in about 8 years, a bread maker that has not been used in about 5 years, a George Foreman that has not been used in about 5 years,…….get the point. I use my skillet and an old slow cooker for most of the things I do in the kitchen. Alton Brown always says never buy a UNITASKER. I try to see at least two jobs for everything.
It used to be that only men were the collectors of rarely used “things.” Welcome to the club ladies.
Often wives are unwilling benefits of semi-useless item due to men’s proclivities of succumbing for holiday ads aimed at them. A good example: what woman in the world desired a “Salad Shooter®” for her birthday or Christmas? Or a six-foot teddy bear on Valentines Day?
learn to cook well. It’s fun, it’s healthier, it’s satisfying and spend the money you save on junk appliances for better wine. You really only need a few pots and pans, a couple of good knives, a blender, and a food processor. The rest is a waste.
Husband has the entire garage as wood workshop. Shed mostly holds items to set up at craft shows, though we have not gone in a while.
Family room serves as our studio. He has about 70% of the space and storage.
2nd bedroom is our office. He has about 3/4 of the space. We have 5 full height bookcases and a half height one. 2 shelves are mine. He also has bookshelves in the bedroom.
The unfinished half of the basement contains more woodworking stuff including picture frame making tools. Finished half has his leather working stuff including an overfull (clean) garbage pail of leather hides, tools and leather “horse” (work bench). Also a table for cutting mats and fabric. Fabric on bolts. 2 boxes of his books plus 2 more bookshelves of same. Electric train layout. Exercise bike and boxing thing – both never used.
About 2 years ago he turned the living room into a room for weaving with a loom – I get it back for December and January for Christmas.
Last year he turned the dining room into a weaving area for a small loom called a tape loom.
Only rooms not mentioned above are the bathrooms and 3rd (tiny bedroom).

Yeah, but since those look like food prep tools, you can be glad they’re safer now from bugs and mice.

I don’t think I’d complain much if my husband cooked sometimes.

It’s better when I had a garage to put all that ‘seemed like a good thing at the time’ stuff.
