I’m reminded of LususNaturae’s mnemonic of Lucy being the good one since her hair points heavenwards, and Agnes the evil one with her downward pointing ’do,
Nancy’s, of course, points in all directions, as befits a truly neutral character.
Super Powers are overrated if the ability to talk to fish is enough to get you a hit movie.
An associate of mine once told me that my level of training in Kyokushin, Kendo and Iaido was exactly the same as that of Bruce Wayne according to one of the animated series, and he was very excited that I should get myself a costume and fight crime. I was slow to understand that he was serious – one problem with working in the game industry is the overwhelming number of geeks you know.
Like today’s offering very much. The kids are still the kids, but a little poignancy and sweetness is a real thing too. Lucy’s comment puts me in mind of the recent documentary about Fred Rogers. If you want a little bit of antidote to cynicism, it’s in there. Check the trailer and see if you aren’t tempted. It’s called “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”

Oh I’m sure your mutant powers will kick in one day…as soon as you figure how to age up to the event horizon. (Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!)

I like this rare bit of sweetness here. I like Nancy’s self-centeredness even more.

Go watch re-runs of Mr. Roger’s neighborhood, Nancy. He likes you just the way you are!

This world could use a couple hundred Mr. Rogerses right now…
