Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
The ex has no idea how to access her messages. My messages are all in a contraption that is attached to my phone and all it requires is the push of a button to hear them.
The biggest reason people canât do something is that they havenât learned to stop saying âI canâtâŚ,â use that as a crutch, and steadfastly refuse to read instructions or listen and pay attention to anyone trying to teach them. And people wonder why our schools are horrible. Weâve raised generation after generation of âI canât,â âitâs too hard,â and âI canât be botheredâ people who wonder why lifeâs so hard and everyone is so bitter. Drop the âI canâtâ attitude and youâll see a lot of things are really pretty easy. The rest of us are gettinâ tired of doinâ simple stuff for ya all the time.
Itâs not âcanâtâ it is rather, please show me how to do operate it. I donât need all of the bells and whistles. I am not going to spend the day sending and receiving messages, watching films, twitting, snapshot-ing, etc. Wake up each morning checking the GoComics, puts me in a good humor, and then off to do whatever is needed.
I got my first computer in â84, learned what to do at the C: prompt, started a data management business and every job I had since required increasing computer use. The job I had in â96/â97 was the one where I was tasked with getting us on the Internet. I have a not-smart cell phone, from which I can collect my messages; and (obviously) a computer with email, which I check several times a day as I do a lot of household business on line. I donât text, however, and youâd think I was on the other side of the moon from my younger friends. I think THEYâre the ones who are too lazy to learnâŚto write with more than thumbs or actually speak sentences. (Actually, my younger friends are very kind and accommodating when they find out that I figuratively live in a log cabin.)
The best use of texting, is to leave a quick message. âIâm on my wayâ takes less time then calling waiting on the person to pick up and going through the âHow are you doing?â and small talk just to say, âIâm on my way.â Another good thing about texting is to give a quick answer to someone when youâre in a meeting. But the greatest help that texting has been to me is to send a technician a picture of a part r part number I need or a problem Iâm having and that helps he or she find what I need.
But to carry on Long conversations when it is easier to make a phone call, thatâs a dumb use not texting.
Triple A jump started my car and handed me a card to tell some I like their work. I donât know how this five number text things work. Donât really want to know either. I heard some of them end up putting extra charges on your phone bill.

When I was handed my first smart phone, it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to turn it on. :(

Texting is the only way to get in touch with my son. His voicemail wonât accept a message because itâs full and he wonât empty it.
