Garfield you may be a fun comic to read (for nearly 40 years!) but you wouldn’t be my cat. Never. Never. Never. I like donuts and if I have any you ain’t getting any. Eat your cat food and be satisfied.

Jon, when you gotta eat, eat. Don’t talk.

You’d think Jon would learn…so maybe the only reasonable conclusion is that Jon WANTED Garfield to eat the donut!

Jon, go out to a store which sells fresh, aromatic donuts, buy a dozen, bring them home and eat them in front of Garfield. Tell Garfield that they were an Easter gift to you, and you’re sorry you can’t share. Happy Easter to all.

Come on now, Garfield. I can’t believe he let that donut remain on plate for six panels. Normally he would’ve already eaten it by the second or third panel

It’s very unselfish of Garfield to foreswear the happiness that he might get by sharing.

Don’t put your donut anywhere near Garfield!

Some common sense here that those two didn’t think about: Breaking it in half and sharing it.

Jon was being naive, the outcome was never in doubt.
