In Congress, they’d need to go down to seconds; White House in nanoseconds

I used to work in a factory, and while I was there, we set a record for longest time without a lost-time injury accident – over 3 years. Sadly, there was another factory in town that had t-shirts made celebrating going 30 DAYS without such accidents. I knew then that I had chosen the right one to work at.

The scandals are not more numerous, the scrutiny is more intense. Instant news with cameras and recorders in nearly every hand or on every corner makes naughty more obvious.

Swamp City is now just one big scandal. Effects of continual and repeated shock are wearing off, and total weariness, with occasional spells of ennui, is setting in. Most of us will have reached who cares stage long before the ridiculous primaries and the stage-managed conventions.

The House, Senate and White House. As well as the FBI, DOJ, and every three letter agency in the government. Have adopted, the Hollywood approach. Even bad news is good news, as long as the public remembers your name. It’s an election year and way too many people are running for office. So a good scandal will keep your name out there and (right or wrong) the public will vote for you.

What’s bad is when scandals don’t raise a stink any more because they’re so common.

The Bill Clinton method of handling scandal: Release the information just before it would have broken and then declare it old news.

The DJT method of handling scandal: Deny it and declare video recordings of it faked and then after a while, declare it old news.

    “Move on, nothing to see.”

One porn website reported there had been a large increase in traffic on their site from the Washington DC area during the government shutdown
