Oh, like hand-me-down kids don’t grow just as fast?

Yeah…of course he’d wear it. Pink with sparkles, you say? Well, he might; it just depends which way he inclines. If it’s his style, of course he will.

It must be a BIG brother if she can wear his old winter coat. Maybe she can check out second hand or goodwill or the like? Vintage store are possible but can be pricey.

I was the vertically-challenged one when I was a kid (late growth spurt). My younger sister was taller than I – I actually got hand-me-ups!

I remember embroidering some of my brother’s hand-me-down shirts…they were lovely! I even sewed a pre-fab embroidered butterfly on one shirt, about where the logo of a fancy manufactured shirt would be… >^..^<

To this day, I’m not sure which side the buttons are supposed to go on, the right or the left, for which gender…I wore so many of each! It always seemed silly to me that there was even a difference!!!

LOL! Mine were from a cousin who was eight years older but bigger, so about 10 years out of date. Guess who had a poodle skirt in the early 60s? It was not till I was 14 that I had clothes that were in fashion, first because an aunt worked in a clothing store that wrote off and tossed the even slight faded window display pieces (which happened to be my size then and to my taste were highly useable, so I got them), and then later in that age year because our own store was doing well following its relocation and I was beginning high school so was allowed to have new clothing.

I mostly missed out on wearing my older brother’s clothing: He was stretch tall with giant feet and I’m more average. And he was hard on his clothes. I did get some button down shirts. My younger brothers, though, got a lot of my old clothing. Which they mostly seemed not to mind, much. My two sisters were far enough apart that the younger refused to wear the older’s stuff that was so totally out of style… and my Mom agreed w/ her.
