If the planet will speak it would say: “I think I am infested with a plague.”

If all we want is a final resting place, the planet will happily provide it.

The planet doesn’t give a s**t about us humans. It will be around billions of years long after we’re gone.

Man has said that several times. It gets warmer, it gets cooler… the planet is ever changing.I have to chuckle at you folks who think the world is only a few thousand years old and has always had a stable climate.

I think that punchline is one of the best ever! “Is it getting warm in here” indeed.

This on the heels of the vaccination thread. Looks like Mr. Rickard has found a new mission for his comic strip.

seriously, do not run a good comic with politics. I have left other comics for that nonsense.

“We’re so self-important. Everybody’s going to save something now. “Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails.” And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. Save the planet. The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are! - George Carlin

Stephen Hawking believed that climate change would be humanity’s extinction event.

“We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid,” he told BBC News.

“Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it’s one we can prevent if we act now.”

I wonder if Shel Silverstein would approve (if would be difficult to tell since he died almost 20 years ago)?

I find the commentary here to be interesting. This is obviously a pro-science comic, and yet many people seem to want to cherry pick which science they like and which is somehow “political.” (read: “contrary to somebody’s opinion.”)
