If only Mordred had served tea and crumpets to his victims, as is the wont of well-bred serial killers! Then Thick would have removed his chains today, sparing us several more days of witless banter in this custer-fluck of an arc. But does Thick show us any fairness? Will he do us that favor? Hah! And ha ha ha hee hee!
kreniigh, you’ve provided even more confirmation that with this strip, the order of the panels is of no consequence at all.
Mix and match, re-arrange, draw them randomly out of a hat, whatever: you’ll always wind up with something no more or less meaningful than what you started with.
Flight Suit, I’m sure the order of those panels is important. As played out in this arc,Testicle Chin gets more sedate each time he appears. I think he accidentally received Mordred’s sedative and is gradually turning moribund under its impact.
For those who wonder what will happen after Thick unchains Mordred:
Of course, Spacy and the crack police department/federal agents didn’t bother with handcuffs. Don’t need them on a guy who has killed 11 people and threatened Spacy.
Haven’t we seen the 2nd panel a few times before? I think the rain is irrelevant now; it’s all irrelevant - the story hasn’t moved on for several weeks now.
And now we’re reminded that Mordred is yet to be sentenced for his murders, and it’s implied that there’s a chance he’ll escape the death penalty. Or is Locher talking about the Comfy Chair? Is there a hope that this arc will develop into a Monty Python skit?
If Mordred really wants loose, here’s what he should say:
“Thick, if you manage to bring me in for sentencing, I’ll tell the judge about you ‘power approach’ idiocy, and I’ll mention the officer who warned you the road ahead was flooded. You’ll lose your pension over that one, boy!
“Here’s the deal. You let me loose. I’ll try to kill you and escape. You’ll have to kill me to stop me. If you kill me, you can tell any brain-dead story you please about what happened, and I won’t be there to contradict you. If I kill you, you’ll die a hero, and if I’m ever captured nobody will believe my story if I tell it. Deal? Let’s shake on it!”
pcolli, I checked, and this is the sixth time since 12 January that we’ve seen the granary-tree-storm image. There are only slight changes in the image; I suspect there’s a master drawing, and each time it’s photocopied for re-use, a few details are changed.
You could say this is the seventh time the image has appeared. Look at the strip for 12 January. Notice the storm-shapes to the left of the house in panel #3. Notice how the shape is duplicated on the right side of panel #2. I think this is Locher’s personal record for re-using his junk.
I am now following “Li’l Abner” on comics.com. Now that “Gooch” is insane, an episode of “Fearless Fosdick” will begin tomorrow. Can’t be any worse than this drivel!
Well, folks, I broke down and read the week’s look-ahead. Wish I hadn’t. Can it get worse? YOU BETCHA! Locher, are you sure you didn’t do scripting for The Three Stooges in your spare time?

Atleast this one seems less stupid, that villain has been so annoying and started out so cool.

That’s not rain, it’s ice. The story has ground to a frozen halt.

Bill Thompson - I don’t want to read ahead. It would spoil this edge-of-chair-sitting suspense!
