Shoplifting. WHAT

The prices may be criminal but this is going too far.

I can’t believe you’re doing this either. Oh wait, you’re a teenager and your desire to be accepted by your “friends” is much stronger than both your principles and fear of being caught. And your teenage brain hasn’t yet learned to consider consequences beyond the next 37 seconds.

I was with my sister when she decided to shoplift something (can’t remember now what it was). It was NOT a fun experience. That was 45 years ago.

Oddly enough, I was just thinking about this story arc the other day!

“…hey…check out what I got at the mall….it was a real steal…”

Girl’s this will be bad, CD’s have electronic scans, mom will get a phone call.

Side issue: why does Peter care how often Paige goes to the mall? The way he’s reacting, you’d think she was hogging the TV.

I think that works best with specially modified clothing, though there’s always the possibility that a clerk will one day notice that you always dress the same. Which points to a different lesson: shoplifters shouldn’t get water from the same well too many times.

Oh yes, we are that far along…

I did that too at that age, until I got caught. I was grounded for two months, no phone, no TV, no Atari. I also had a sore backside. Never did it again.
