In previous strips Betty has seemed frugal or highly pragmatic, but this strip makes her appear petty and foolish – unless she was already planning to visit the store to get the things she forgot and did the drama with the coupon just for laughs.
I don’t get why she thinks they tried to get away with anything. It’s not like the executives all got together and said, “Okay make note of what Betty buys today and then we’ll put one of those items on sale the day AFTER she’s bought it!”(Insert evil laugh here)
She seems a bit mentally off today with her reaction.

I hope Betty is checking the ‘use by’ dates. Be realistic about how soon you expect to use it.

If necessary, you can usually return it and then buy it again with a grocery store.

This is my husband and me … in reverse. Easier to go with the flow than face the fallout of trying to expose the flaw in his logic.
