I don’t know why she had to be so catty. It’s not like it was Earl’s fault she could not hear. He spoke loud enough for her.

I would say she’s being catty, but that would be offensive to Muffin!

My wife likes to talk to the floor, with her back turned. Yes, I have some high-frequency hearing loss, but in the vocal range, no problems.

Speak softly and carry a big cat.

Worse than the “silent treatment” . Opal is evil.

But Opal has a problem, and she’s deep in denial. Jerk move.

Earl won’t understand the nuance. Opal’s try for comeuppance is wasted on Earl.

Opal is just plain evil. She claims to love Earl, but is always mean to him.

She says this to a cat? When has a cat ever listened to the human? They know one sound, the sound of the food going unto their food dish.

Next up, Earl ups the ante by moving his lips but not saying anything at all.

Adjusted?! More likely he just needs to put it in.

I remember an old trick on people with hearing aids. Everybody would speak softer and softer and the person with the hearing aids would turn them up. After a bit everybody would start talking really loud and drive that person crazy.

Mama was hard on Daddy about his hearing loss.

Now she knows how he felt.

She should play the “before” role for a hearing aid ad. Or cell phone.

Took me a second to “get” that her speaking was in little print.

Opal is a toot!

Once again Opal proves that she is a mean old battleaxe.
