I thought restaurants don’t allow dogs in England. There are notices on most of them saying “Dogs not allowed except guide dogs”! I wonder if Fred is guide dog too?
In my capacity as VP of doggie comics, I move that canines be allowed in all restaurants. With certain restrictions regarding obnoxious behavior, of course.
I love that they let dogs in restaurants in Europe. At least they did back in ‘72. In Florence there was the sweetest Bassett Hound next to me at the restaurant we ate at. He was so sweet & lay in my lap for snuggles before we ordered. It was a bankette & they were allowed up there. Apparently the restaurant owner knew the dog & allowed him up. That’s not usually allowed. They do have some rules regarding animals in restaurants. It made my experience in that place all the better for it!

There is an old saying that the best place to be a dog is in England. :)

I would have problems if dogs were allowed into restaurants. I would be petting them and giving them bites off my plate and never get anything to eat!

I’m glad dogs aren’t allowed in restaurants, given that so many owners don’t clean up after them.

Those who don’t clean up after their dogs are liable to prosecution.

Where I work, (not a food service) we have the standard service dogs only sign, but we welcome dogs. They’re usually much better behaved than kids.
