Now that is a restaurant with service that goes the extra mile. I mean when I come to dine I want to relax and savour the entire meal without being forced to undergo mental arithmetics!
Today, a lot of restaurants have a little space on the bill with suggested tip amounts some start at 10% most start at 15% with 2 higher options. His place looks like one that would do it, so Ziggy wuldn’t have to do any figuring anyway.
Sadly that is what tipping is getting up to. Soon the tip will be worth more than the meal.. The menu will have tip sizes with the meal and service you can expect. $60= one burger and a smile. $20= a beer and a flash of thigh.
This kinda happened to me once. Years ago my sisters and I went to this old fashion diner. When we got the bill, the waiter pointed out to us his tip was 15% of our the total amount, then gave us a little lecture about how important tipping is. We gave him the tip, but not without giving him a little lecture about how tipping is entirely up to the customer and that is decided based on how good or bad the service was.

And just for that crack, I’m making your tip only 10%. Even I know how to figure that one out.

Fix that bill to include NO tip. I won’t tip a smart aleck who thinks he’s entitled.

Happily, there is no 2nd panel where Ziggy cusses him out.

Thanks, anyway, I’m foolish enough to care about your opinion and not leave any tips.

That would probably be the only time I wouldn’t leave a tip if something like that happened to me.

That’s a 30% tip of the iceberg.

A 30% tip!? Isn’t that a bit steep?

Tip? The lobster was still alive? I had to fight him off. In the end he ran out the door, with pants? I barely escaped with my life. Tip?

For him…. I can figure ZERO real easy.

In France they always add in the tip, but I don’t think it’s as high as 30%.

I’ll bet he’s smart enough to deduct 30%.

“Huh. And YOU were too condescending to deserve a tip so, I subtracted it!”
tcayer over 5 years ago
I usually tip 20%. Some places add 18% when you have a group or use a discount. So they’re screwing themselves, because I won’t add any more.

We really need to go the way of England: pay the servers the same wages as every other job and eliminate tipping altogether.

My addition make not so well, but my subtraction works really good.

30%? Did the waiter want the keys to Ziggy’s house too? Sheesh!

The best tip you can give is to tell them to get a job that pays what they are worth without customers having to bribe them.

Thank you very little.
