Sounds like their moms are being a bit flighty.

Years ago I worked at Burbank tower when the control tower was just above the terminal. We were running EDCTs (Expect Departure Clearance Times, meaning flights going to certain airports were getting delays) and I gave a flight their EDCT for about forty-five minutes after their scheduled time. I was on my break walking through the terminal when their new departure time came and they weren’t ready. I heard them announce “Due to air traffic delays…” I thought sure, blame it on us because you weren’t ready!

I’m normally not a fan of puns – but when Hilburn does one, he does it right!

Never happened on my zillion trips. Now retired and won’t go near an airport.
