There was only one Charlie Chan movie that can be considered a comedy: “Charlie Chan And The Curse Of The Dragon Queen.” It’s also the only Chan movie I ever saw.

Never seen snow? Lucky sods!

There was a basketball player from Africa who eventually went to the NBA. I can’t think of his name. But he told a story in an interview about flying into Buffalo, New York to check out a NY college and play basketball for the school. He said it was winter and he had never felt cold like that in his entire life. He said that in about 30 minutes of being there, he was on the phone to other schools in the south that had also show interest in him.

I had never seen real snow until I was about 29, when we moved to the NW. (The “snow” we got the handful of times while I lived in Houston does not count as real in my mind. It never coated much of anything!)I still absolutely love seeing the first snowfall. Kids and I make homemade hot cocoa and sit by the windows.

Two-thirds of the world’s population have never seen TV, magazines, books, photographs of snow? Sorry, I don’t believe it.

We…are the privileged few!

You mean to tell me that 2/3 of the world’s population don’t get Hallmark Christmas movies?

The first 25 years of my life I lived through winters on the east side of Lake Michigan – now I hope I never, ever see snow again. I now live in Florida – for obvious reasons.

Charlie Chan movies weren’t comedies…they had some comedic moments, true, but they were not comedies, they were detective yarns…just sayin’

And the other one-third have to support the snow shovel industry by themselves…

Charlie Chan movies are mysteries…NOT comedies.
