So maybe there is some kind of deal between the Edenite government and whatever is really in control of Eden. But, the Edenite government is trapped into doing it. Are they hoping that a “loose cannon” type(wally) will be able to find the clues to set them free? Apparently they are covering for Wally, and giving him all those chances (changing jobs for him). But covering for Wally from who? or from what?
Does keeping his head down means not upsetting the status quo? Or does it mean that there are plans afoot to rid the colony of whatever is threatening it? “You’ll get answers…..” I can’t wait!
Still no discussion about what Chic saw on the beach, although I’m thinking that will happen next week. My statement form the last comic about three expressions of apprehension seemed to have been true. It looks like all three of them are looking towards Wally (and possibly Kirbee and Chic) as a means of getting out of the situation Eden seems to be in. There is obviously some kind of memory control happening because it is evident they haven’t been there long enough for Wally to burn through five jobs. Wally and Kirbee don’t really remember how they got there. We don’t know if Chic remembers. In fact, it seems a lot is riding on Chic’s shoulders and what he’s done in Eden by way of going to the beach.
“Too much at stake…” Are those in authority close to solving whatever problem is secretly plaguing Eden Colony? With Wally figuring out so much on his own, perhaps they’re now going to clue him in, which will allow him to help.
Keep your head down. Be quiet. Remember: “The squeaking wheel gets….removed; and replaced with a wheel that does what is required without making all that noise.”
Ah. There’s the recorder. https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/03/04 I’ve struggled to see if he was recording it or playing something. I’m still sticking with a pocket of non-reality with Eden sitting in it… And the outside world just sorta sees people show up. “I” feasting on the malcontents.

But how can you get answers if you don’t ask?

Like cattle heading to the slaughter house. Keep your head down, and keep your eyes open for an escape route.

I seriously doubt that Ravencroft and Duffy are going to let Wally keep his head down.
