IIRC, Marigold used to worry about introducing Phoebe to other unicorns, concern that other Unicorns probably wouldn’t see Phoebe, a human, the same way she does. That they’d see her as a curiosity rather than a person, right?
But so far, every unicorn we’ve met seems to happily converse with Phoebe as an equal. No condescension or patronizing or anything of the sort in sight. Which is awesome in it’s own right, but a far cry from what Marigold claimed would happen.
Did she misjudge her race a little? I’m wondering if a similar thing might happen if we were to introduce a foreign intelligent creature to our own race – we’d claim that they might experience discrimination, but it wouldn’t actually turn out to be as bad we we implied?
The most dangerous rebellion would be to turn off their shield of boringness. It would be the worst thing they could do. Then the bad old days would be back and its far more crowded now than before.

Watch “censored for T.V.” versions of R-rated movies.
Actually, probably wait until she’s a teenager for that.

I think there is someone from whom they can ask advice about parental rebelling: Infernus’ sibling. (What was neigh’s name again?)

Fight the power? Does this mean we have to call her Phoebe G or Phoebe Feeb? (If you don’t get the reference, you were born after 1990.)

If unicorns want to “rebel” against unicornkind in general, they could start using contractions……..
