Sadly, that describes most “neighborhood committees.” Not all, mind you, but far too many.

Or he and Clayton could just finish the tree and tree-house. Never mind; that’s just crazy talk!

Hey Adam! Just rent out space on your tree to the cellphone carriers and use the money to bribe, er, convince the HOA to leave you alone.

People should be civil minded enough to know what is good and not good for their neighbor. Some rules are meant to be broken, others are to protect the best interest of the neighborhood.

Now just call it " Modern Art", write up some pedantic and long winded explanation as to what the man-made tree is supposed to represent, apply for an NEA grant and you’re set!

Just thought of this – over the past year or so some government entity – either township, village or county – in the next county is fighting with a man that he has to take down the tree house he built for his son as he did not get a permit and did not get the tree house inspected when finished. Somehow his particular tree house due to size or something falls within the designation to need a permit and inspection (and if it needs a permit it WILL increase his property taxes which are sky high here).
