oh, how lovely, Sally Brown, to remember your manners

I was told to take Basic Collegiate Math in university. Got confused and signed up for Basic Mathematical Ideas. First day of class: Probability, Chance, and the Euler diagram. Ooops.

That’s half of the coursework, Sally! For the other half, you learn to introduce yourself. So go ahead and let Mr. Math know who you are!

Her days in school will be numbered.

Reminds me of Art Carney “addressing the ball” on THE HONEYMOONERS.

I think that’s the point of the class.

I did that with an “Intro to Art” class in college. Walked up to the professor and said “Glad to me you. Art is your name, is it?” I didn’t do well…

Sally forth is what Sally does!

How about “Introduction to Phonics”? “How do you do, phonics?”

When I said, “Hello math”, Math got up and whooped me bad!

Reminds me of a joke about a basketball player who was put in an easy music appreciation class: “How was it?” “It was nice. They played some music and I said ’Thanks, I appreciate that!’”

Remove the comma in the last panel, last sentence (in parentheses) and it would still make sense.

New Math. Ugh.

This is exactly the right attitude to have when you begin getting to know math.

I thought introduction to math was like first grade or kindergarten.
