The second panel would make a great reaction image.

I think we’re all agreed that Marigold has a pleasant posterior…

    You’re wrong, Marigold.

Okay, that was a joke, but it’s almost not; our society currently faces multiple disasters because people have been taught for decades by unethical media personalities that uninformed, even willfully-ignorant opinions are as valid as scientifically-proven fact.

Timothy and alfalfa with a touch of clover, 2nd cutting, artisanal perfection.

Not to get too serious about a comic, but in my experience the majority of “opinions”, being subjective, are more often invalid. The more certain someone is about their opinion, the more invalid it is likely to be. History and the record of human bigotry, violence and atrocity bears this out.

I made this observation to a friend once and she objected, “But we are right more than wrong. Look at the technological advances we’ve made!” My response: “Advances? Sure, we’ve accomplished some amazing things. And look at what those ‘advances’ are doing to out planet. We went for thousands of years without seriously harming our planet. Then we enter a single century of technology and we’re bringing ourselves to the brink… because we think we know what we’re doing.”

One of the greatest flaws of the human species is making an observation, drawing a conclusion, and foolishly believing we are right.

    https://nypost.com/2019/08/02/greenland-sees-massive-ice-melt-amid-heat-wave/

More than 10 billion tons (11 billion US tons) of ice was lost to the oceans by surface melt on Wednesday alone, creating a net mass ice loss of some 197 billion tons (217 billion US tons) from Greenland in July, she said.

Enough water added to the ocean to raise them world wide by half a centimeter.
