Growing up, all the pharmacies in town were privately owned businesses that carried the usual drugs, plus bandages, aspirin, etc., and a real, live soda fountain to get milkshakes, malts and banana splits. Then Rexall came to town and it’s never been the same since.
In my smallish town, Walgreens, Rite Aid, & CVS are lined up practically next to each other on the same side of the main drag. I don’t know how they all stay in business.
No Walgreens here (thank goodness) CVS ia too far for a casual drop-in. Hubby likes Rite-aid and I use the closest one run by the hospital-just Rx’s and a few otc stuff. The Rite-aid is med distance med traffic.
All BP cuffs have variations in readings. Whichever one is used…. if used consistently will be the best way to gauge BP. The difference for the mustachioed fellow is more in terms of his ego/deisre….. probably at most the difference between the different places is 5-10 upper points…. not a huge difference…. it just makes him feel good to go to the one that is slightly lower.

I wonder what it was like with my great-grandfather’s and granduncles’ drugstore in Safford, Arizona back in the day before CVS and Walgreen’s.

Or the best prices. CVS is terrible. Walgreens is better. Costco is best.

We had Chandler Drugs in Landover Hills , Maryland. We’d stop there after school for ice cream and milkshakes.

They do vary. The Rexall in town gives consistently higher readings than the Shoppers Drugmart.

CVS took over (fired) all the Target pharmacies and OTC prices increased, some 100%

Around here if you don’t want to go to CVS, you can go to Walgreens across the street.
