Why was it banned? It’s because a library bypassed the thousands of patrons and let a small group of pearl clutching busybodies make their decisions for them as to what was and what wasn’t “appropriate”. :/

“Censorship no longer works by hiding information from you; censorship works by flooding you with immense amounts of misinformation, of irrelevant information, of funny cat videos, until you’re just unable to focus.” Yuval Noah Harari
There’s a commercial for a new “celebrities” see ghosts tv show where some airhead says, “I freak out!” Couldn’t even get a simple verb tense right. Maybe the bunnies are in a haunted house?
I’m pretty sure the most recent “Wings of Fire” book will be banned by my kiddo’s school library. The funny thing is that it wouldn’t be for the violence, or the main character’s belief that her purpose in being is to exterminate a rival race of dragons, but for the G-rated lesbian relationship.

Well…..Six Bunny-Wunnies would soon become twenty or more Bunny- Wunnies. Can’t tell how that would happen in a public library now could we.

I just noticed that Sally is not wearing her usual blue dress… I guess Schulz started letting the girl characters wear pants sooner than the 80s… :-)

Banned books only make you want to read them more.

I think Hugh Hefner wrote the introduction to “The Six Bunny-Wunnies” Freak Out".
Neo Stryder about 5 years ago
Maybe because of the title.
scpandich about 5 years ago
“Freak out” meant something particular back in the 1970’s, but I can’t quite remember and I’m too lazy to google it.

I wonder if the library also banned the associated soundtrack by Frank Zappa…

Well, the prevalent opioid usage in Chapter 3 is a tad disturbing.

I think the person making a list of books to ban misread the title as “The Sex Bunnies-Wunnies freak out” and decided it was about an orgy.
gantech about 5 years ago
The censors probably never bothered to read it.

Are you kidding? The title alone would get it bounced out of libraries everywhere.

freedom of speech doesn’t include banning other’s books.

The book may have a political angle associated with it. The governments and NGOs are unforgiving.
