Why was it banned? It’s because a library bypassed the thousands of patrons and let a small group of pearl clutching busybodies make their decisions for them as to what was and what wasn’t “appropriate”. :/

I think Hugh Hefner wrote the introduction to “The Six Bunny-Wunnies” Freak Out".

Maybe because of the title.

“Freak out” meant something particular back in the 1970’s, but I can’t quite remember and I’m too lazy to google it.

I wonder if the library also banned the associated soundtrack by Frank Zappa…

Well, the prevalent opioid usage in Chapter 3 is a tad disturbing.

I think the person making a list of books to ban misread the title as “The Sex Bunnies-Wunnies freak out” and decided it was about an orgy.

The censors probably never bothered to read it.

Are you kidding? The title alone would get it bounced out of libraries everywhere.

There’s a commercial for a new “celebrities” see ghosts tv show where some airhead says, “I freak out!” Couldn’t even get a simple verb tense right. Maybe the bunnies are in a haunted house?

I’m pretty sure the most recent “Wings of Fire” book will be banned by my kiddo’s school library. The funny thing is that it wouldn’t be for the violence, or the main character’s belief that her purpose in being is to exterminate a rival race of dragons, but for the G-rated lesbian relationship.

freedom of speech doesn’t include banning other’s books.

The book may have a political angle associated with it. The governments and NGOs are unforgiving.
