No proof it isn’t true and no comment from Deutsche Bank, just an inappropriate use of a single source.

He said it was UNCONFIRMED. Mr Ramirez is unfamiliar with the word as he watches Fox which would never use it.

LO explained SEVERAL times that his story was only based on ONE source. Whereas, your president tosses out lies like a manure spreader.

And he did an immediate full apology for not properly vetting the story. And who doesn’t do that? A long list if fox employees.

O’Donnell didn’t retract because he was wrong. He retracted because the report had not been properly processed.

I’m going to bookmark this one, for when the report is finally properly vetted.

I want to see if Ramirez has the journalistic ethical standard that O’Donnell has set and retract his statement.

It’s coming, Ramirez. Be ready for a big ole helping of cowpie pie.

Gee I wonder what the cartoon would be if it was true. Oh wait!! There wouldn’t be one because Ramirez is a partisan hack.

I wonder why Mr. Ramirez hasn’t subject several presidential tweets and press statements to this same analysis? (I don’t really. I know why. What is the current lie, falsehood, misleading count issued from the White Hose now; somewhere over 12,000?)

O’Donnell and MSNBC/NBC have what is called journalistic integrity. Something conservatives have no understanding of, and why someone like Ramirez can never be a part.

O’Donnell made a mistake — and Apologized; just like responsible grown-ups do.

Most amusing thing about this ’toon? The rabid partisan commentary. Go Libs! Go GOPists! Rah, rah, raw.

A couple points to be made here.

The “news” item was not just unconfirmed single source. It was 3rd party with no confirmation. O’Donnell didn’t see the papers, his source heard from a 3rd party who also did not see the papers. This approaches the level of 4th grade girl gossip. Mary say Joanie talked to Angela who heard from Bonnie that….. For this story to have been broadcast is beyond a “mistake”.

Further, it is not just LO who made the “mistake”. He didn’t pull this out of thin air and blurt it out. His producers knew it was coming. His editors knew it was coming. The story was in their hands for….how many hours or days? And NO ONE picked up the phone to make even a feeble attempt to get confirmation, verification or clarification?

This was yet another example of a “professional” national news outlet totally abandoning the most basic rules of journalism. The people at MSNBC are so desperate and so hungry for Trump’s demise that they will do anything to achieve that goal.

He retracted and apologized, but the damage is done. As you look at the comments above you see multiple people buying into the story because, like MSNBC, they desperately want it to be true. As for the retraction, I suspect that the suits at the top realized very quickly that this story would be a slam dunk defamation civil suit. That carefully worded retraction short circuited what would have ended up being a multi-million dollar loss for the network.

All you apologists for LO miss the point. He made a false claim in the pathetic tradition of trying to bring down Trump. Hit dramatic scoop was doo-doo.
