Zipper: Sidekick? You want me to be your sidekick? Jeff: I can't do the job alone, dude. I need someone I can trust. Zipper: How can you trust me? I'm just an average college Joe, not a man of action like yourself! Jeff: Zipper, there's nothing to it... you wouldn't have to rappel into the palace with me. You'd only have to man the helo hoist and lay down suppressing fire with the door gun. Zipper: Hmm... certainly sounds easy. Jeff: It is. It's not like the movies, with their crazy stunts.

Hey, with these two involved what could possibly go wrong?

Forget Green Hornet. I expect this to be more like another series with a character who had a sidekick named Kato. Pink Panther.

They could never do special effects like they do in the movies, comic strips don’t have that kind of budget!

If this doesn’t get made into an action comedy, nothing will.

Look, I realize this is just a comic, and I’m undoubtedly taking this much more seriously than I should.
Anyway, for a rescue mission that sounds this straight forward (though certainly not without risks) I would expect that Overkill would have any number of mercenaries in his address book that he could call on – for the right price – before he would entrust this to the likes of Jeff Redfern (and if he knew Zonker Harris, Overkill would probably just write-off the $50 mil for good.)

Continuing with your train of thought, Alabama_Al…what makes you think Overkill cares about anything other than getting his $50 million back? If he gets paid in advance, and then Thing One and Thing Two get iced while not saving President B from a humiliating death, it’s a win-win for Overkill. (Okay, I’m cynical. I haven’t had enough coffee yet.)

Actually, we are forgetting one unfortunate innocent bystander to all this. Someone has to fly the helicopter for these two yo-yos. You figure he’s got a chance of getting out alive? About the only way I can see would be to dump these two idiots into the palace and get the heck out of Dodge.

I can’t wait to see Zipper in his Purple Patsy costume…
“Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” will be ancient history compared to these two!
No, wait…! Come to think of it… It is!

Movie stuntmen usually walk away, cartoons are ink, the real thing is well, not in the minds of distant observers and supporters.

Jeff WILL need all the help he can get…

Actually, SCAATY_423, I did think about Overkill just dropping everyone once he got the $50 mil. Not that I hold that Overkill gives a bleeep about Bmzklfrpz, Jeff, Zipper, or some anonymous helicopter pilot (although he might be concerned about the helicopter.) I don’t believe Overkill would double cross Bmzklfrpz if for no other reason than it would be bad for future business. If Overkill got a rep for taking the money and running, he might find the Dukes of the world ringing his phone less often.

Yesterday’s strip, with Zipper and Jeff on the phone with Overkill, uncannily mocked the conversation between Scott Walker and his (pretended) backer David Koch:
http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBeastvideos#p/a/u/0/Z3a2pYGr7-k
At the end of their 20-minute phone call, Walker is so puffed up by “Koch’s” flattery that he modestly compares his achievement in destroying the unions to Reagan’s bringing down the Berlin Wall and Soviet Communism.

Good one Palin, so that’s what it’s all about, tearing down the Berlin Wall … again.
Maybe we should free the slaves and put the Confederacy under reconstruction … again.
It seems like it all comes down to the Koch Bros, and the influential role their corporate voices have in setting their political agenda.

If they drag Mel in to pilot the chopper, then we got a movie.
Alabama_Al, Overkill’s objective is to get revenge on Jeff. He’s already written off the $50 million and has no expectation that Blagojevich or whatever his hame is will be extracted. Anything else would just be gravy. He just wants Jeff to be gravy.
Alabama Al over 13 years ago
Coyoty, I don’t think that’s the way this will go. Giving up a chance to recoup $50 million is an awful lot of revenge. Bmzklfrpz has shown himself to be a lot of things (almost all loathsome), but I doubt he’s dumb enough to actually pay a full $50 million up front for anything, even (or perhaps especially) for someone saving his gluteus maximus. In the universe set up by GT, Jeff is Overkill’s only chance to get his money. Besides, if Overkill was inclined to do things like this, he probably would have had Jeff “disappeared” after the “Afghanistan President” debacle.
