Can we blame them? Thanksgiving is great.

There comes an optimum time to switch to the next sales event. Shopkeepers are constantly searching for that.

Locally, many of our stores put out both the Halloween and Christmas stuff together this year.

Probably not enough money in Halloween. This does make me wonder what Dean and Heart are going to do for Halloween.

‘Tis the season to rush the seasons. I personally dislike this. It was bad enough when stores started putting out Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. Now it’s Halloween! And I really really dislike anything that smacks of “Christmas In July”. Who came up with THAT idea?!

This must be an August strip. Currently stores are full of Christmas stuff.

Stores are in a life or death situation. They feel they have to put the holiday stuff out ASAP or they’ll lose sales and possibly go out of business. They’d rather listen to people complaining about it being too early for Christmas stuff than have to tell their employees they’re all losing their jobs.

Yeah, I was at Lowe’s (US hardware chain) a few days ago, and the Christmas stuff was all out. In their defense, though, it was mainly outdoor stuff for the lawn decorating lunatics who start when it’s still warm.

Hobby Lobby puts their Christmas stuff out in August, but that is because they are catering to the crafters who need time to make their gifts and decorations.

It is fairly rare to see very many Thanksgiving decorations in any store. I’ve tried to find decorations for my home and had a real hard time finding anything.

The Thanksgiving section is far too large to reflect reality.

From a marketing standpoint, those other two holidays have higher sales numbers.
