As sweat evaporates from your skin it takes some heat away from your skin. Wind (moving air) can speed up the evaporation of the sweat from your skin as it moves the “sweaty air” away from your body – giving more “room” in the air for more sweat/moisture to evaporate into. That heat taken away may be measured in calories. While it’s not exactly friction, Walter is not totally wacko (because of this).
In practice, wind on skin cools the skin, requiring the body to burn more calories to maintain an optimum temperature. Unfortunately, dietary “calories” are actually “kilocalories” (a thousand thermal calories). You’d have to sit in a force 6 gale for a couple of hours to get the necessary hypothermic condition to lose any weight. :)

And people wonder why his wife, Wilma, sits in the kitchen drinking all day.

Combine that with a vibrating belt machine and he’ll be slim in no time.
Not.

Same logic as the motorized exerciser being touted on the B level cable channels.

If the ladies walking back from church see Walter exposing himself like that.. Wilma’s gonna take a lot of friction at the next bridge club meeting.

I have a small illustration of a silhouette person in a hammock clipped from newspaper, captioned “Doing two things at once: resting and breathing.”

Walter also works out by breaking wind whenever possible. Snuffy Carlson who lives down wind is much chagrined by this.

Walter looks like he’s died. Someone turn the fan off before he stinketh.
Good night, Ballard Dears!
