Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Now, now, Woodstock, Snoopy was nice enough to come along with you on your “migration”. The least you can do is be interested ( a little bit ) in his birthplace.
I remember my parents taking us to Independence Mo and Chicago when I was about seven. They were excited to show us where they had grown up, except of course both cities had changed out of all recognition in 40 plus years. Lots of “all of this was farmland in those days” (for Mo) and “there used to be a movie house/ice cream store/newsstand here” for Chicago. Except there wasn’t any more.
I recently went back to my old neighborhood and house where I grew up 60 years ago. After the initial 20 seconds it was kind of a let down. I left with no desire to ever go back.
I used Google’s map view to see my old cage; Very disappointing, the driveway was all cracked and broken, the tree I planted in the front yard was gone, . . .
At least Snoopy does not suffer the embarrassment that The Dog (name unknown) does when he admits that he was born in the linen closet at Aunt Dolly’s Holiday Home for Cats in Tauranga, NZ. His first words were “meow” and he was given a name that he insists remain unknown.
At this point, I think, Snoopy was still an only dog. Later he had sister Belle (with HER kid, “The Pink Panther”), and the legendary Spike, and the mistakes Andy and Olaf (and the even bigger mistake Marbles). (Not Snoopy’s mistake, Schulz’s!)

Or maybe not (be excited, that is).

I think Woodstock will not be excited because of the yawn

The cage might make him sad.

Woodstock would really be bored if I brought him to St. Luke’s Hospital, where I was born.

Apparently, not as excited as you are, Snoopy!

So one dog’s excitement is another bird’s boredom?

Snoopy is always kind about your life, Woodstock. You are not being a good friend.

Very similar experience when I took my kids to Tulsa.

So we will soon know the answer to the question about whether you really can go back home again. Or not.

I’m hearing Joni Mitchell. To paraphrase “paved puppy farm, put up a parking garage.”

Places like the Daisy Hill Puppy Mill are best put out of business.
