Seeing as Frazz runs a lot, he must need a new pair of shoes evey month or so. Considering the price of those things, it’s as well he earns a lot as a songwriter, and has very few other outgoings.
I have a friend who deliberately wears a red/orange/purple sock on her right foot and a yellow/green/blue sock on her left foot. She claims that way she can glance down and know which direction is right or left. I think she just likes looking unique.
After years of ice skating I wound up at the rink with an old Bauer for one foot and an older CCM for the other. Took a bit to get used to it but it worked out OK.
I used to be the guy who would have one pair of running shoes and, necessarily, wear them for every run I ran. I also used to get injured a lot. When my then-local running store (shout-out to the extraordinary Playmakers in Okemos, Mich.) recruited me to join their shoe-testing program and try a new shoe each month, I saw what I’d been missing. Having a quiver of shoes for a range of conditions and to rotate through in general cut down on the injuries dramatically in addition to being a whole lot of fun. And after a while, when I had accumulated a giant stash of retired running shoes to rotate through all day, gosh, my street shoes started lasting longer, too. All that stood to suffer was my reputation as someone who had any fashion sense, but frankly, you can’t miss what you never had.

Heh….this actually happened to one of my bosses when I was a legal secretary. Florence had gotten up late and dressed groggily in minimal light.
She got to court and the judge called her to the bench and whispered “Florence…you have 2 different colored shoes on.”
One was black, the other very dark blue…an easy mistake to make if you’re not paying attention.
She went right home after court to make sure they matched!

I remember going to work one day with two different shoes on. Noticed it myself and couldn’t do anything about it.

I’ll admit that I’m confused. What does a large stock of old running shoes have to do with wearing shoes from the wrong pair?

It is very difficult to get both sides to come together.

Just say it’s the latest rage. There’s lots of people who wear two different socks, and nobody seems to care.

Maybe each foot needs a different fit? It happens.

Why not donate the old shoes to a homeless shelter?

I can’t stand it if one shoe is tied tighter than the other. I don’t see how i could walk around in two different shoes without knowing it.

I run in minimalist shoes. That way, there’s nothing to break down.

I do that with my socks. Throw them all in a bucket and every day is a surprise.

Must be a nuisance reaching over your word balloons like that. I guess it keeps you from being too wordy.
