My parents hound (no pun intended, Roscoe) me about shaving when I start to look scruffy.

I don’t recall Roscoe having any bouts with mange.

Opal how can Earl strain his soup without the mustache ?

Roscoe is NOT mangy. Still got all his hair and everything. (He’s mighty old though)

Wonder if Opal has ever used the one I came up with when someone’s wearing a Hawaiian shirt: “Looks like someone ate a box of crayolas and then threw up on you.”

Please, a little more respect for the better half of humankind.

Poor Roscoe…just to see the look on his face in the last panel!

I have a pal – you can’t tell where his the nose hairs end and his mustache begins.

If a dog is mangy, it usually is LACKING hair/fur. Now scruffy on the other hand….

Mange causes a dog to LOSE hair, not get shaggier. A “mangy dog” is ill. No wonder Roscoe is defending it.

My history text says the former Middle Class referred to them as mongrels.

Amazing. She condemns them for such, but believes she is speaking truth.
