The Russians should fit right in. They are ruthless and know what they want.

Hank, you make good points, but:

The Russians are already able to influence what countries in Europe do through their oil and gas exports, turning them on and off. Having more control over Middle Eastern gas and oil helps Russia have even more power.

Why are the Russians interested in what happens in Venezuela? Oil.

Oil turns into money. Oligarch money. Follow the oil, follow the money.

Looking at Putin’s wish list explains trump’s actions perfectly. He’s a Russian asset, and he’s turned our government into a tool to serve Russian interests. If that isn’t treason, nothing is. I think he brought up lynching because his subconscious knows that’s what he deserves.

Well, now Vlad will throw the mess in a large pot of boiling oil. And, voila, snake fritters.

The balance of power is changing once again, to Russia’s benefit, thanks to the Muscovite Candidate. Benedict Arnold only gave the defensive plans of West Point to the British, and all he got for it was a commission in the British Army. trump? We won’t know all of it until historians are allowed into the de-classified files about 50 years from now.

“The president’s determination over time has paid off,” Senator Graham told reporters, ignoring his prior break with the president over Syria. “We don’t give him enough credit for destroying the caliphate . . . . This is a moment when President Trump’s worst critics should say, ‘Well done, Mr. President.’”

Trump thanked Russia, Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Syrian Kurds for helping in the mission before crediting US intelligence.

Russian troops asserted their new power in Syria after a humiliating retreat by US forces in the wake of an invasion by Turkey. Russian took selfies with glee at taking over multiple US military bases which were hastily abandoned. They erected Russian flags over abandoned US complexes.

Russia got sucked into Syria because they loaned money to Syria and wanted to protect its investment. Now, its bad investment has multiplied many times over. They should just write it off and get out.
