You can have jack-o’-lanterns or you can have pie, but you can’t have both from the same pumpkins.

We always line our “used” jack-o’-lanterns up on a board stretched across the compost pile, and watch them slowly rot, then tumble into the garden waste below. The carver of the last pumpkin standing gets what’s left of the Halloween candy.

I didn’t know you could say !!@# in a comic strip.

Minor nitpick: You don’t make pies out of the insides of pumpkins, you make them out of the shells.

Not mulch. Compost. Mulch is made from wood.

3 things some in the family do not like…scary things: pumpkins, scarecrows and clowns. Perhaps Stephen King had something to do with it.

I think Chip needs to practice on Jack-O-Lantern noses.

I love Halloween because we can scare the … …. .. _ out of people. At least the pumpkins and the scarecrows and the long leggedy beasties do.

I’m quite sure that I wouldn’t like pumpkin pie made from the “insides” of pumpkins. I don’t care how much pumpkin spice is added.
