I’m not sure the Picasso is of Marigold. Yeah, the spiral lines on the horn tilt the wrong way.
Where’s the Dali unicorn?
I can hardly imagine a portrait of Lord Splendid Humility; it would just be his horn poking from one of the frame’s sides.
I was hoping to see the Warhol-corn. And the Jackson Pollack one too.
You painted almost all of these yourself, Marigold.
Is that the door of Marigold’s refrigerator?
Love the tapestry!
I like the Roy Lichtenstein. :D
That’s a Flemish tapestry, not French.
Beautiful museum. I imagine that Marigold has posed for many great artists of the past. I wonder how the sculpture section is.
What? No Paul Chabas?
I could see a picture of Phoebe and Marigold running through the meadow in spring/summer
Great work…loving all the different styles.
I saw that unicorn tapestry at the Cloisters in New York more than 30 years ago. Dana’s version is better.
Dana forgot to apologize to the comic creator Lichtenstein sampled.
I would buy the tapestry one as a T-shirt.
“Marigold’s world,” Andrew Wyeth-style.
I’m sure that some unknown French tapestry maker would be totally chill with this. :)
I would buy a copy of the tapestry one…
The Musée national du Moyen Âge (former Musée de Cluny) in Paris is well worth seeing. It is the home of six Medieval tapestries known as “The Lady and the Unicorn.” They were woven in Flanders from wool and silk, from designs drawn in Paris around 1500. They are often considered one of the greatest works of art of the Middle Ages in Europe.
we have a print of the one on the left.
This is the best. Love the “semi-apologies” tag.
I have to wonder how many unicorns exist in their world.
No need to even semi-apologize to Lichtenstein, he was just an art plagiarist who made his fortune stealing from hard-working comic book artists.
The tapestry is divine!
(admires diversity of the artwork for the cartoon)
Nice painting of an Ozicorn…
Never apologize to Roy Lichtenstein, Dana; the man got rich from plagiarizing comics artists like you, and HE never apologized to ANY of them.
Beautiful artwork on the “tapestry” =)
Great, now I have The Last Unicorn stuck in my head.
I love the Lichtenstein one. Somebody did her homework.
