These girls are amazing skaters to be able to do all those moves with their eyes closed.

Inside that nine year old “character” lives an elegant lady…Some day some lucky guy will see her….

As a figure skater, I’m wondering why their costumes do not have skirts. It has always been a rule that a costume must have a skirt and also to not show a certain percentage of nudity. (Percentage of which I have now forgotten). It was called the Katarina Rule, named after Katarina Witt who pushed the envelope too far with her Las Vegas-like costumes of no real skirt and with feathers, during the 1980s…. Here is the rule from Wikipedia and there was a photo of her in a garish costume: "This Katarina Witt getup inspired the so-called “Katarina Rule,” which mandated skirts for female skaters. Across all disciplines, men must wear trousers; no tights for men are permitted. … The majority of the upper body must be covered, and costumes must not hide the body line of the skaters."

I dunno – I don’t see many elegant ladies coming out of the younger female generation these days… they all want to be like men, if not even more powerful than men!

There is a lot of “change” going on it seems. Nine is at the beginning of womanhood change also.

Wonderful cartoon this morning. Those transitions in kids from raucous imps to angels are always a joy to behold.

I was watching a group of kids perform at my wife’s church, this morning – singing and dancing like seasoned professionals. I also had to laugh at the antics of these same “angelic little creatures” outside, after the church services were over!

Amazing what a transformation a pair of skates and a skating outfit can bring….

Reminds me of some folks after they entered a vehicle. Course, they became more dangerous than Goofy.

Reminds me of the first time I saw a professional classical musician after after she changed out if her concert gown.

@Howtheduck: You have stated here several times that Elizabeth is 10 or 10 1/2. In looking through the FBorFW archives, there is very little reference to her age or the date of her birthday. In 1984, they had a party for her on May 26, and that’s the last birthday reference I can find for her. So, on what do you base this theory? It would seem to me that Lynn has a pretty good handle on her own characters and it is not up to us to correct her.
