My mother, who never had any weight problem whatsoever, was extremely unsympathetic to any girl or woman who was overweight. As I kid, I remember my dad saying to her “You and your damn skinny women!”. I didn’t really “get” that until I was older, and realized that most men prefer women with a bit of “meat on their bones”, so to speak.
