My grandfather’s cure all was a sling ( also called a punch) consisting of a generous dollop of whiskey, sugar or honey, hot water, and lemon. Even as little kids, when we had a bad cold, he’d give us about a shot glass full.
Don’t know if it cured our colds but we sure felt better!
OMG,I heard the first panel in my mother-in-law’s voice so clearly. She doesn’t understand new medication so she’ll use that excuse to try to not take it. (But not the whiskey reason…)
