Rare diseases are seldom attacked directly. You want to cure the diseases the most people suffer from. Sometimes a cure for one leads to cures for others.
An awful lot of patients are asterisks. (Including me!) If there’s an oddball side effect, that’s the person who will have it. Sign and try something else.
Reminds me of a cartoon (similar setup) many years ago, in which the caption was (doctor speaking): “Talk about good luck! I think you have a disease that is going to be named after me!”
