This cartoon gives me an idea: instead of a glass of water on the night stand, a glass of wine would be a good idea.

Bummer…Mom missed seeing the classic movie “It’s a Wine-derful Life.”

This frequent gag of how wives/moms are supposed to relax or ‘escape’ – cat, wine, candles, book, lying down (albeit usually in a bath) still baffles me after eons of seeing it in the funnies. I must be an outlier. :-P

The glass of wine is a nice touch.

It sure took the family long enough to notice, especially when they returned her presents last week.

Maybe they were enjoying the break themselves.

Her cat, a good book, a bottle of wine… only thing missing is a good box of chocolates.
