Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Some people stay in their rut until it’s 6 feet deep and then folks just cover them with dirt. The view’s better from between the ruts… or off that tired old road entirely.
Never been in a rut. . .something or somebody ALWAYS comes along to nudge me on. . .a comment here on GoComics, a book, an article, a book club discussion, a short trip on the web, my cats, my friends, a discussion, a disagreement, my curiosity (that’s usually first and foremost!).
When I started driving, c. 1955, thankfully the rutted roads were gravel. About once a year a grader would come through and the whole process would begin anew. I began driving pop as we went to the boonies early on Sundays, with him in the back seat giving commands to drive a certain way so he could shoot crows out the back window. What?

Many people – especially many seniors – are quite happy having a routine and get very upset if anything happens to disturb it.
The difference between a rut and a routine is attitude.

Sometimes, it is best to avoid the season of rut. A very gamey observation.

Every path leads from somewhere and to somewhere. There are lots of turnoff points but they get harder and harder for most to take.
And we pick out paths when we lack the experience to realize the dangers.
