One time, the local pharmacy gave my wive a “child proof” cap on her bottle of prescription pills. She couldn’t get it open. I couldn’t get it open… and I own tools! So, I laid it flat on the cutting board and used the cleaver to cut off the lid. Worked a treat. Thirty days later, I took the remaining bottle back for a refill. The pharmacist didn’t even ask: The refill came with an easy-open lid. Actually had little wings to make it easier to grasp.
i haven’t tied my shoes in years. WAY too much work for an old codger with ADD. Just slip ‘em on and off. Sure miss my younger days back in good ol’ St. Pete. FLIP-FLOPS!
Should have gone done to the Bass outlet store and got some Penny loafers – they’ve been around since the ’30’s (well maybe not the outlet store but the shoes were!!!)
Remember when a five-year-old’s IQ depended on whether s/he could tie his/her shoes? Geezus, the stupid stuff we were made to worry about back in the day. . .
I was reading a book about knots and the author was talking about the constrictor knot, a way to tie up a bundle of things that are relatively long and straight. He said “This knot, however, is best untied with a knife!”
They have in my file at CVS "no child-proof caps. Plus I have saved the child proof caps and have extra’s so once the child proof comes off (yes with a lot of work) the regular cap goes on.
Years ago Dagwood Bumstead explained the value of knots. While putting up a clothesline for Blondie he declared, “If you cut a line too short you can always tie a piece on, but if you make it too long there’s nothing you can do about it!”

Moral: Sometimes, cutting it is the best idea!

Well sometimes, and somehow a bow-knot turns into a Gordion-knot.

I’ve saved my old bottles and just transfer the new pills (and label) to them.
