    I notice many of the featured artists did quite well with faces but seemed to have problems with proportions when it came to depicting bodies. Probably because the face was what was actually sought?

    The Visigoths were known for their gaudy jewelry and long hair. The two kings felt it was necessary to uphold this tradition above all others. Oh, and the symbolic long staff, of course.
